Edgecomb Elementary School Teacher Sarah Currier and Students Receive State of Maine School Garden of the Year 2027
Maine School Garden Network announces Edgecomb Elementary School Honored at Calendar Preview Party as the School Garden of the Year 2027! Augusta, Maine: The Maine School Garden Network announces that Edgecomb Elementary School was honored as the School Garden of the Year 2027 at the Calendar Preview Party! In addition to being selected as one of the school gardens in the calendar, the School Garden of the Year also receives the cover image on the calendar. The 2027 School Garden of the Month Calendar is available for purchase now at MSGN.org. The School Garden of the Month Calendar is a great way: for school gardens to raise funds for their projects whether their school is featured in the calendar or not! It’s a perfect way to engage teachers, administrators, and community members in the values of outdoor education plus inspire other schools to start their own gardens and provide amazing thank-you gifts for local supporters. for local businesses to support youth gardening by either selling calendars or using them as gifts for their employees or customers or making a donation to MSGN. for community members to showcase the valuable role school gardens play in hands-on education, gardening and promoting healthy eating with their calendar purchase. The 12 schools entered photographs of their school gardens and were selected by a Review Committee in late January. In addition to being in the calendar, each school will be featured as a School Garden of the Month throughout 2027 with a profile in the newsletter and website.
