Trunk or Treat Message
Happy Halloween Eve, Families! 🎃🎃
We are so excited for tomorrow's Trunk or Treat! A huge thank you to our amazing PTC for putting together another wonderful event for our community.
To help us keep the night fun and safe for everyone, please keep these quick guidelines in mind:
🐾 No Pets: Please leave pets at home. Only certified Animal Assisted Therapy dogs are permitted on campus. No other animals will be allowed in the building.
🎭 Family-Friendly Costumes: If adults dress up, please skip weapon props (fake knives, axes, guns, etc.) to keep things fun and not too scary for our little ones.
🏫 Respect Our School: Please help us care for our building. The playground is closed due to darkness and safety.
🚪 Entry: The front doors will be unlocked; please do not prop open any other doors.

SPOTLIGHT: 2nd Grade
2nd Grade Teacher
Hi! My name is Michelle Fortin. This is my second year teaching second grade at Edgecomb Eddy Elementary School. I’ve worked various jobs at EES since 2018 and have had a 38-year career in education.
Owl Moon by Jane Yolen
We have recently been writing personal narratives. We used Owl Moon by Jane Yolen as a focal text. To inspire the development of setting in our writing, we created moon art in chalk on black construction paper and chose our favorite text from the story.
Theme: Minions
Our theme for second grade is “A ‘Minion’ Reasons to Love Second Grade!” In the hallway you will see that we have expressed ourselves by creating “Minion Mini Mes” and designing minion pennants. In addition, minions decorate our classroom and guide our learning.
