Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD

2023-24 (FY24) Use of Federal Title IA, IIA, and IVA Funds
Boothbay- Boothbay Harbor CSD receives Federal Title IA, IIA, IVA, and VB funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. As part of ESEA, our district is required to provide reasonable opportunity for public comment on the consolidated application and consider such comment prior to the submission of the application. We are accepting public comment on our ESEA application through July 6, 2023. The application is summarized below. Please submit comments or questions on our plan to Lisa Sharp, ESEA Coordinator, lsharp@aos98schools.org, or the Superintendent’s Office, Attention L. Sharp, 51 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.
FY24 Application Summary:
In our application, we describe the projects that ESEA funds will support and how each project will support our district goals. The goals that are supported by ESEA funds are to increase literacy and math achievement, support students’ Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), and to improve our Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) which is a framework and process for helping all students achieve.
For school year 2023-24 (FY24), it is anticipated that the CSD will receive $156,558.95 in Title I, II, and IV funds.
It is planned that the majority of these funds will support direct services in literacy for at-risk K-4 students during the regular year and, if funding allows, professional development for PK-12 staff in instructional best practices, SEL supports, and/or MTSS.
For school year 2022-23 (FY23), the CSD’s preliminary allocation was $162,745.88 in ESEA funds. This year’s preliminary allocation is an approximate 3.8% or $6186.93 decrease from last year’s. This is a trend for the past several years. Allocations in FY23, 22, 21, 20, and so on were each decreased by approximately 1% to 3%.
Supporting regular year direct services in early literacy remains our priority.
