A quarter century after September 11, 2001, the Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) Student Council invites community to a 25th Anniversary Remembrance and Service Assembly on September 11, 2026. Held on Sherman Field at the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD Campus, this ceremony brings together students, staff, community and local first responders to honor the lives lost, pass the enduring legacy of 9/11 to a new generation, and salute our community heroes.

• Passing the Torch of Remembrance: More than 100 million Americans are too young to remember 9/11. This assembly fulfills our shared promise to ensure youth born after the tragedy learn its historic significance and lasting legacy.

• Honoring Sacrifice: Recognizing the unimaginable losses of September 11 while paying tribute to the daily bravery and dedication of local emergency responders.

• Celebrating Unity and Service: Highlighting the courage, compassion, and civic duty that emerged 25 years ago and continue to ripple through our community today.

*Twenty-five years after the September 11, 2001 attacks changed our nation forever, a new generation has grown up without direct memory of that day. To fulfill our shared promise to never forget, the BRHS Student Council is hosting a community-wide assembly on Sherman Field. Joined by local police, fire, and emergency service workers, we gather as a school and town to reflect on unimaginable loss, honor extraordinary bravery, and reinforce the enduring values of unity and service. Family and community members are welcome to join us in remembrance.
