Title I

Edgecomb Eddy School receives Federal Title IA, IIA, and IVA funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. As part of ESEA, our district is required to provide a reasonable opportunity for public comment on the consolidated application and consider such comment prior to the submission of the application. We are accepting public comment on our ESEA application through July 17, 2026.  The application is summarized below.  Please submit comments or questions to Laura Mewa, ESEA Coordinator, lmewa@aos98schools.org.

FY27 Application Summary:

In our application, we describe the projects that ESEA funds will support and how each project will support our district goals.  The goals that may be supported by ESEA funds are to increase literacy and math growth, to improve our Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and SEL programming.

The SAUs have received preliminary allocations from the Maine Department of Education so that they may plan the use of funds for the upcoming school year and apply for those funds.  The funds total in Title I, II, and IV funds are $51.427.53.  CTL gets 16.9% of our Title I, II, and IV funds, leaving Edgecomb Eddy School with $43,152.02 for programming.

It is planned that the majority of ESEA funds will support direct services in literacy and math intervention for at-risk K-4 students during the regular year and professional development in literacy, math, MTSS, and SEL.
